This piece may be performed with or without the sand sculpture by artist Jean-Pierre Hebert. The sand sculpture is a spiral drawn on the sand located on a sand box. A magnetic ball controlled by computer moves over the sand, leaving the spiral as a trace. During that process, which is around 12 minutes long, the shakuhachi plays the music, Metagon. more information
